He began his research career in high-temperature Knudsen Effusion Mass Spectroscopy (KEMS), which he used to study fullerene functionalization processes. When researching the products of synthesis of fullerene derivatives, he also actively used the technique of ionization in a matrix with laser desorption and a mass ion time-of-flight analyzer (MALDI-TOF). He subsequently directed his research activities to the analysis of environmental samples using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) and mass spectral detectors coupled to chromatographic techniques (GC-MS and LC-MS).
